日本海軍 空技廠 十三試艦上爆撃機・二式艦上偵察機「彗星」（D4Y1-C）（昭和１７年６月「蒼龍」搭載機））(1/48 ファインモールド）

後に「彗星」として採用される「十三試艦上爆撃機」の初陣となる、昭和１７年６月、ミッドウェー海戦時に航空母艦「蒼龍」に一機だけ搭載された機体を模してみました。
この「二〇一号機」のクルーは偵察：近藤勇飛 曹長 操縦；飯島正忠 一飛曹でした。
蒼龍に搭載されたのは十三試艦上爆撃機の試作三号機で、ミッドウェー海戦当日の六月五日午前五時半に蒼龍から発進、先に利根の四号機から発せられた情報の海域に到着するも敵を発見できず、引き返す途中の午前八時に敵艦載機を 発見、これを追跡しアメリカ艦隊を発見するものの無線機の不調で無電が届かず、午前一〇時三一分、蒼龍の上空に戻るものの既に蒼龍は被弾しておりやむなく飛龍に着艦、敵情を報告。第三次攻撃隊の準備をしている間に攻撃を受けて 本機は「飛龍」と運命を共にしました。
後の１２型との差異は、風防前面と、その少し前にあるふくらみの有無です。
尾翼番号は蒼龍を示す「Ｂ１」（ミッドウェー海戦直前、第２航空戦隊の序列が「蒼龍」から「飛龍」に変わっていますが、機体の番号はおそらくそのまま）
本機の作成にあたって現在靖国神社に展示されている実機を取材しましたが、残念ながら細部が かなり違っており、結果的にディティールに関しては光人社の本、特に戦後米軍の撮影した写真が最も参考に なりました。
＜同体・翼＞
全体的に曲線部分など甘くなっていたモールドはデザインナイフで彫りなおし。
残念ながらキットのままでは段差が各所にある為、パテで整形しました。
翼端灯はあまっていた零戦用の透明部品を流用しました。
ピトー管はファインモールドから出ている真鍮製部品を使用しました。
＜コックピット＞
幸い入手できた金属製の座席には、シートベルトも立体的にモールドされていました。
計器類はファインモールドの純正エッチングを使用。
７．７ｍｍ旋回機銃はファインモールドの二〇一八年新製品の精密プラ製を使用しています。
＜引き込み脚＞
ブレーキパイプは３ｍｍ真鍮線にて再現。このブレーキパイプ、靖国神社で保存されている機体ではまるで 違う位置にある為、終戦後米軍が調査のために撮った写真を参考に取り付けました。
脚カバーもファインモールド製エッチングを使用したおかげで、実際に塗料をはがすことで下地の銀色が出てきました。
＜武装＞
機首の機銃口はドリルで開口した後、真鍮パイプで銃口を追加する予定でしたが、図面を見ると機銃本体は だいぶ中にあって外から殆ど見えなかったようなので、ただ穴だけあけてあります。
＜塗装＞
塗装は学研の本を参考に彗星の前型のものとされるものにしました。
排気管の汚れ・焼けをタミヤのウェザリングマスターで表現、パステルですすも追加しています。
試作機なのでそんなに塗装は劣化しているはずはないのですが。

This model exhibits CV"Soryu",s No.201 test plane, which became the very first mission of "Judy".
Planes crew were;Isamu Kondo Hisocho(recon) and Tadamasa Iijima ichihiso (pilot).
Kondo,s plane launched Soryu on 5tu june 0530, reached the point which CA tone,s 4th plane had informed, but failed to find enemy, while returning, they found US fleet, but they could not send telegram due to mechanical failor.
on 1031, no.201 returned to Soryu, but Soryu was already on fire. so they did return to Hiryu and informed enemy position.
While Hiryu was preparing for 3rd attack, Hiryu got attacked and test plane was lost there,too.
Detail of the aircraft is mainly being reffered to pictures taken by US after war, even though a real plane is being exhibited at Yasukuni-shrine. because the existing SUISEI at Yasukuni is although valuable, there is a problem in the details.
Unfotunately, there are several steps on kit, which should not be and looks not smart as an aircraft.
I used putty to bury steps, and make it smart.
As I could not find out how the real plane will be dirty by oil, I reffered picture of type 3 fighter(having same ATSUTA engine) to make dirt by painting.
Painting of Suisei is based on early model,s method,
Piton tube is made of brass line.
I replaced front window glass to flat one, and uesd photo-etched parts to decolate targetting device.
Brake oil pipe is being add by brass line.
The tire becomes dented for weighting slightly.
Pipes are painted by clear orange and blue ,as if it is being burned by heat.
