ハセガワの３段「赤城」に付属してきたキットをベースにディティールアップしました。
魚雷は、訓練用弾頭を示す赤色にしています。

　実機は九九艦爆の登場後も訓練用として意外と長いこと使われた飛行機でした。
　模型には、胴体下に２５番を装備させてあります。
　見た目ごちゃごちゃしてしまうので、張線は実際の半数におさえてあります。
　勤務先で知り合った同機の元搭乗員・岡見喬中尉（学徒出陣２期）さまのお話では、昭和十九年に百里基地で１月ほどこれに高等練習機 として乗っていた際、「かなりどす黒い黄色に塗装されていた」そうです。
　最初は中国大陸で使用されていた「土色」（茶色）が劣化したとか、茶色の上に黄色を塗装したら 透けてそんな色になったのでは、と思ったのですが「いや、最初からそんな色のペンキだった」そうです。

I happened to meet a man who had gotten acquainted in the office was a lieutenant who had retired service.
He, reutenant Kyo Okami, told me that he had used type96 bomber for about 1 month as a training plane, and he said "The plane was painted in VERY dark yellow".
First, I thought it might be deeteriorated brown paints, or When yellow was painted on brown, it was transparent and became blackish yellow.
But he said "No, the painting itself was dark yellow.".
I do not know why it had been painted in dark yellow, but he said "I remember it clearly, because that was soon after I used primary training aircraft of bright yellow color".

九七式へのつなぎ的存在で活躍期間も短く、宮崎さんの「雑想ノート」のまんがが一番活躍してい ますでしょうか。
見た目ごちゃごちゃしてしまうので、張線は実際の半数におさえてあります。
装備は先を赤く塗装した魚雷と、５０番にしてあります。
This machine had been on service in very short term.

　未完成品左からトランペッター、旧アオシマ＋ファインモールドのエッチング使用、旧アオシマ。完成品は左からトランペッター、新アオシマ、旧アオシマ＋ファインモールドのエッチング使用になっています。
from left; Trumpeter, new aoshima, old aoshima. 「飛龍」搭載機を再現するにあたって、文献を漁ったところ、光人社の「九七式艦攻・天山」や「丸メカニックス・空母」においては「緑地にブラウンの迷彩」、他の書籍には「緑地にグレーの迷彩」など諸説ありました。
幸い、緑塗装され、８００ｋｇ爆弾を搭載した「３０７」号機の写真があったので、これを元に検証してみました。
結果・・・機体下部と同じグレーではコントラストがきつすぎるので、ブラウン迷彩なのだろう、と結論づけました。
According to many documents and white and black pictures, I painted "No.B2-301"plane with green and brown.
some documents had described Hiryu,s plane as "painted mainly on green, and gray", but when I compared contrast of brown and glay, I thought gray looks too light,and therefore, I painted it with green and brown .
From the viewpoint of effectiveness, glay pattarn must be much better, but I think IJN was still not used to paint camouflage paintings and had no "know-how" of it, compareing with IJA.

ところが、ブラウンの迷彩塗装を施した機体を公表したところ、ハワイのPearl Harbor History AssociatesのDavid Aikenさんより、飛龍と同じ第２航戦の蒼龍に搭乗されていた淵田光雄からの証言をいただきました。
九州で分散して訓練を行っていた艦載機群は、当初機体はすべて前面グレー塗装で、一部保安塗装として尾翼が赤かったそうです。
その上に「茶色いカーキ色」が塗装されました（ここまでは機体の全景の写真もある）。
それから、空母に異動になった際、緑色の塗装をされたそうですが・・・この緑色の塗装がはげて、下地のブラウンが見え始めたそうです。
蒼龍飛行隊の山本さんいわく「再塗装する余裕はなかった」そうで、はげた状態のまま真珠湾攻撃に参戦したようです（作戦直後の写真を見ると、明らかに緑とはコントラストの違う塗装がはげて下から見えていました）。
「翔鶴」機は特別で、学研の「艦載機スペシャル」によるとわざわざ「翔鶴機のみ無塗装とする」 とまではっきり書かれており、実際写真でも上面と折れ曲がって上になる翼の下だけまだらに迷彩塗装が されています。これはペンキ不足によるものなのか、不明です。
同書では「真珠湾攻撃後、濃緑緑色べた塗りにされた」とありますが、それを示す写真はありませんでした。
ただ、真珠湾攻撃後に補充された機体は時期を考えると「中島系緑色」１色だったはずです。
「翔鶴」の模型ではユニークな真珠湾攻撃当時のままの塗装としました。
According to Mr. david,Soryu and Hiry,s type97 were painted at the same air field when during training. The spray finish of brownish khaki.
Then the upper surface green was painted over at carrier.
THEN the paint started to peel, and ground color began to appear.
Many document had described Soryu&Hiryu,s type 97 as "painted mainly on green,and being camoflaged with (glay or brown). but if so, WHY on carrier using only at sea?
If it was NOT camoflage, that must work better on economical reason. but anyway, Shokaku and Zuikaku had been painted with camoflage. it is prooved by film.

I repainted my type97 from "camofrage" to "green", and "brown" and "silver" appears from ground, as picture shown by Aiken.

I painted model as paintings had been gone from edge , mainly from forad.
I scratched surface of wide area (A wrinkle was likely to appear on reality) with sandpapaers too, so that underpainting will appear a bit.

実は九七式艦攻を製作したのは、「飛龍」の制作の為でした。
どうせ作るなら真珠湾攻撃時を再現しようと、大スケールで勉強する為に作りました。 「赤城」航空隊（零戦９機、九七式艦攻　撤甲弾装備１５機、雷装１２機）
Akagi on 1st attack(9 type Zero, 15 Kate with armor piassing bomb, 12 topedo) 「飛龍」第一次攻撃隊（零戦６機、九七式艦攻　撤甲弾装備１０機、雷装８機）
Hiryu on 1st attack(6 zoeros, 10 Kate with APB, 8 topedo) 「翔鶴」第一次攻撃隊（零戦５機、九九艦爆２６機）
Shokaku on 1st attack(5 Zeros, 26 type99 CVbomber)
「日本空母戦史」によると、真珠湾攻撃の第１次攻撃隊に発進したのは
九七式艦攻（魚雷装備）：赤城・加賀各１２機、蒼龍・飛龍各８機
九七式艦攻（８００ｋｇ爆弾装備）：赤城各１５、加賀各１４、蒼龍・飛龍各１０機
九九式艦爆（２５０ｋｇ爆弾装備）：翔鶴２６機・瑞鶴２５機
零戦チップタンク装備：赤城・加賀各９機・蒼龍８機、飛龍・瑞鶴６機、翔鶴５機
だったそうです。
この1/700スケールは、発艦直前の模様を模した為、キャノピーを開き、一部の機は機銃をだしてみました。
＜航空機の製作＞
　航空機は基本的にまず共用部品の艦載機セット（前期）のものの足を切って、しかるべき場所に０．３ｍｍの穴をあけてから真鍮線でシャフトを、ファインモールド・ゴールドメダル製のエッチングで車輪とギアカバーをつけています。
　また、引き込み足の機体は車輪格納用の穴を１ｍｍドリルであけてあります。
　プロペラもエッチングか、エンジン始動しているものは透明プラで回転しているプロペラを表現しています。
　発艦直前の一部の機体は、離陸・離艦のためにフラップを下げ、トルク調整の為に垂直尾翼を曲げ、搭乗・脱出のためにキャノピーをあけてあります。
　かなりオーバースケールですが、７．７ｍｍ機銃を出しているものもあります。
　機銃とアンテナ支柱（これの装備状況はまちまちだったようです）は０．１ｍｍ真鍮線です。
　一部の機体にはピトー管もつけましたが・・・ほとんど見えないので全機装備はやめました。
　爆弾・増槽は伸ばしランナー製ないしエッチング製、魚雷は伸ばしランナーとエッチングを組み合わせています。
Now I am making hole team of Hiryu, joined on 1st attack of parl harbor, on smaller size(look SOMETHING behind wheel).

1st attack,s formation was :
type97(with topedo):Akagi &Kaga 12, soryu&Hiryu(each)8 planes.
type97(800kg bomb):Akagi 15,Kaga 14, Soryu&Hiryu 10.
type99(250kg bomb):Shokaku 26,Zuikaku 25.
type Zero(drop tank):Akagi&Kaga/9,Soryu 8, Hiryu& Zuikaku 6, and Shokaku 5.
＜MAKING AIRCRAFTS>
Aircrafts are based on "Early IJN planes set".
After making holes of landing gears, I used brass line and Photo etched parts from GOLDMEDAL and FINEMOLD to make gears.
Some aircrafts starting engine has propeller, made of plastic to show it is go around.
Some had its flaps down to fly.
I opened windows , because they are ready to fly from aircraft carrier.
some have their machineguns sticking out from planes.
Topedo, bombs, and tanks are made of photo-etched parts and plastic lods.

バリエーションも少なく、ボンブベイ内に爆弾を収容するので一番製作が楽でした。
前期および後期艦載機セットのものに、０．３ｍｍ真鍮線の脚と、ファインモールド製エッチング でデコレートしています。
This Suisei was very easy to make.
I used 0.3mm brass line and photo-ethed parts from FINEMOLD to make landing gear.

九七式艦攻にかわる大型艦載機ですが、登場した頃は制空権も失われ、損害の目立つ機体でした。
模型は比較的大型な上、脚の支柱がしっかりしていたので造りやすかったです。
これが登場し、活躍できたのは戦争末期だけに、下部塗装は省略されていた機体も多かったはず なので、「地肌の銀色の露出」している機体も再現できます。

書籍によっては宇垣纏中将が終戦の日に乗ったと長いことされていましたが、どうやら乗り込んだのは空冷版彗星のほうが正しいようです。
一応「信濃」で着艦訓練を行ったそうですが、他の機体は無事テストを終えたのにその際脚を痛めて翌日はしけで帰ったとか。
模型はピットロード・WLの後期艦載機セットに入っていますが、出来は大差ないです。
