　ピットロード製キットをベースに製作いたしました。
　多数の魚雷発射管を装備した「重雷装巡洋艦」として竣工後、沈没する昭和１９年まで一度もその雷装を活用する機会もなく、幾度か発射管をおろして高速輸送艦として活用されました。 　今回は発射管をすべて搭載された状態で製作しました。
This molde is based on kit from Pitroad, using mainly photo etched parts from Goldmedal and Pitroad.
Oi is know to be "heavy topedo armed cruiser", having 4 of 10 topedotubes. but she was often used on transport mission, and each time she got the mission, some topedo tubes were taken way.This time, I build model with all topedo tubes.

＜武装＞
巡洋艦「大井」 巡洋艦「大井」 巡洋艦「大井」
「海軍水雷史」によると、本艦は大井・北上専用となった「九二式四連装三型」発射管を10基装備していましたが、実施部隊からの要望で急遽盾を装備したそうです。元乗員さんの証言では「盾というより水除けのカバー」だったそうです。
重量は朝潮型に搭載されたものが１８．６ｔなのに対して１１．４ないし１２ｔと軽量でしたが、旋回範囲が狭く、人力駆動でした。これにさらに盾が付いたことで１ｔほど重量が増したそうです（「生産技術協会資料「技術調査　水雷関係　其の二」「戦前船舶」）。このシールドの形状に関しては光人社の本にアウトラインの描かれた図面が掲載されていました。模型では、金属板を加工してこのカバーを自作しました。
問題はこの発射管は幾度か陸揚げされ、開いたスペースと重量を貨物の搭載に充てられていたことです。このため、輸送任務以外の時期、発射管は装備されていたのか？そのままだったのか？という点。
これに関しては、昭和１９年１月に撮影されたと思われる７３２空と第１６戦隊の訓練を映したと思われるフィルムにすべての発射管が搭載されているのが確認できるため、一度下した発射管は再度搭載されたようです。
その変遷に関しては歴史群像太平洋戦史シリーズ３２「球磨・長良・川内」に元一等海佐のたむらとしおさんによる詳しい記事が描かれています。
記事によると沈没時の「大井」は５，６，７，８番発射管のみ残されており、「軍艦大井戦闘詳報（昭和１９年７月１９日）」によると魚雷命中の際に７、８番連管が魚雷命中時に吹き飛んで海に落ちてしまい、５番、６番連管も旋回不可能となったという記録があります。
なお、後日余った「九二式四連装三型」は「一〇一号哨戒艇・練習艇（旧イギリス駆逐艦スレイシアン）」に搭載され、終戦後この写真が撮影されています。
１４ｃｍ主砲はフライホークの金属製に交換、テーパーが付いていて、砲口も開口されています。2基の２５ｍｍ対空機銃（これが唯一の対空装備）はファインモールドのナノ・ドレッドです。


Oi and Kitagami equiped identicle "type 92 qualtette topedo tube model3". copare to Asashio class tube,18,6t each, model3 was 11.4or 12t, but had less equipments. after service began, crews made request to add wave shield ,and this identicle shield got additional 1t weight. upper line of the shield has been has been described on remaining blueprint, but detail is unknown. only picture taken after war,does exhibit aft view of model3 topedo tube. the tube once belonged to Oi and Kitakami has been recycled to No101 patrol/training ship, once being HMS destroyer Slaysian.
I self made these tube cover by metal plates.
Topedo tube ,which had no chance to use, has been removed and reinstaled for several times.the movement of the tube is described on Gakken,s book, article written by retired navy major Toshio Tamura.
According to "the 732 naval air report janualy 1944",attack planes of 732 ku did make topedo attack training against the 16 battle group (including Aoba,Oi).and movie probbly taken around jan.1944 can confirm OI with all topedo tubes.
The last battle record of Oi, 19th July 1944,say:"After enemy topedo tube hit,7th and 8th tube has been brown off, no.5 and 6th tube disabled to swing". these 4 tube seems to be all she had when she sunk.
14cm guns are replaced to metal parts from Flyhawk.
The only AA weapon, type 96 twin 25mm MGs are from Finemold.
＜艦前部＞

アンカーチェーンは実際の鎖に交換。
アンカーとフェアリーダーはファインモールドのナノ・ドレッドを使っています。
窓枠はエッチングに交換。
舷灯の位置は不明だったので「よくある場所」に取り付けましたが、違っていたかもしれません。
Anchor chains are replaced to real chain.
Anchor and fairleads are parts from Finemold.
Position of side signals are unknown. I only guess.
＜構造物＞

探照灯はフジミの透明部品を使いました。艦橋側面の２ｍ測距儀はファインモールドの部品セットから。
　舷外電路は０．３ｍｍプラ棒をはりつけてあります。
Serch and signal lights are clear parts from Finemold.
boats are mixture of Fujimi,pitroad and Finemold.
　
　
＜艦後部＞

　ボートとダビットはフジミ、ピットロード、ファインモールド各社の物を使いました。後部甲板のアンカーもファインモールド製です。
　Twin 40mm machinegun are from Finemold.
Winches are from Yamashitahobby.
Aft anchor is made of plastic parts from Finemold.
　
　空中線、補強線、信号索はそれぞれの太さに合わせて４種類の物を使用しています。
　Antenna lines,cables are made of 4 kind of metal lines.
　
＜塗装＞
塗装は基本はクレオス水性です。ただし、マストだけタミヤアクリルをエアブラシで塗布しています。

Small parts are painted with creos water painting.only fragle mast are painted by airbrash.
