文林堂『世界の傑作機 No.21 陸軍2式複座戦闘機「屠龍」』
私の祖父は１９２３年（大正１２年）に６人兄弟の長男として東京都で生まれ、昭和１９年６月に召集されました。
本人の話では、東京一円から集められた兵士は一度品川に集合したそうで、その場で山岸曹長という人に「おまえはあっち、お前はあっち」と特に説明もなく 配属先を伝えられ、その足でそのまま満州に送られました。
祖父が配属されたのは現在の瀋陽、当時の奉天の近くに展開していた第２５独立戦隊で、そこには祖父いわく「二式重戦闘機（現場での呼称。「屠龍」 という名称は使われていなかったそうです）」が３２，３機配備されていたそうです。防衛省の記録では十九年９月の段階で４０機配備されていたことに なっています。
祖父は「１６６８２部隊」の発動機整備担当で、「空冷複列星型14気筒発動機」（ハ１０２）という名称を覚えていました。この「１６６８２部隊」 という５桁もある名称は秘匿名称だそうで、私自身其の番号を聞いた時本当にそんな名称あるのかと疑問をもったのですが、実際に防衛省で調べたところ 第２５独立戦隊を示す番号であることが確認できました。
飛行機の整備状況に関しては、なかなかプラグがよろしくなくて発動機がかからなかったとか、エンジン下部にクランクを差し込んで発動させ、一基 動いたら機体の下をくぐってもうひとつのエンジンを急いで発動させなくてはいけなかったことなどを覚えているそうです。
普段着ていた服は「２種作業服（衣こ）」で、いわゆる一体型のつなぎで背中から入るタイプだったそうです。残念ながら日本陸軍関係には疎いので、 この作業服の詳細はわかりませんでした。
祖父の担当していた屠龍の塗装は「赤みがかった茶色一色」で縞模様のような迷彩はなし、マーキングなどは覚えていないそうです。機種は詳しいことはわからないもの の（防衛省の記録にも「二式複戦改」としか書かれていませんでした）、塗装があきらかに夜戦用であり、「世界の傑作機」にも丁型（写真の機体は昼 戦用に改装されていましたが）だったようです。ただし、祖父は発動機担当だったのでコックピットや銃は殆ど触らなかったと言っていました。
「世界の傑作機」に収録されていた写真では、尾翼には第２５戦隊のマークの上に、「橘」など各機固有の名称が書かれていたようです。
満州は「場所が場所だけに敵も偵察以外で来ることはなく、Ｂ２９が時々飛んできた」そうです。詳しい日時は覚えていないそうですが、池田さんと いう方が「Ｂ２９に体当たり攻撃をした」という話を覚えていました。
記録では昭和十九年８月４日に少数のＢ２９が飛来、９月８日に１００機近くが飛来、これに応戦するも３機が失われる。９月２６日の戦闘では 敵機に白煙をあげさせた、とありました。
祖父の最終階級は１等（整備）兵だったそうで、本人いわく「１年もいれば誰でも一等兵になれた」そうです。
残念ながら一次資料はないのですが、第２５独立戦隊の屠龍は、迫り来るソ連軍相手に「タ弾」という４×２５ｃｍの小型爆弾を７６個収束させた、本来は爆撃機の前方に 展開して敵飛行機にダメージを与える５０ｋｇの形成炸薬爆弾（３０個入りの３０ｋｇ版もあったそうです）を対地攻撃に転用し、かなりのダメージを 与えたそうです。
その後終戦となり、防衛省に残されていた同隊の記録によると昭和２０年８月２０日に公主嶺に集結、２５日に鞍山に移動、２８日にソ連によって 武装解除され、祖父はソ連に抑留されました。
祖父が送られたのはウズベキスタン共和国、パミール高原にあるタシケントの近くにある炭鉱でした。
そこで祖父は暫く炭鉱で働いていましたが、途中腸チフスに罹患し、途中から建築物の修繕などの比較的軽い作業になったそうです。
そして本人いわく「労働力にならない」とみなされたおかげか、ようやく昭和２３年８月、「だいしょうまる（字は不明）」という船で復員したそうです。
７０年代まで存命だった曽祖父も、本人も「まさか帰ってこられるとはおもわなかった」と言っていたそうです。

＜塗装＞

塗装に関しては、２５戦隊のマークは入っていなかったので「世界の傑作機」の記述を元に手書きで尾翼マークをいれました。
＜同体・翼＞
ハセガワのキットには既にリベットがうたれていたため、湾曲部などインジェクションの関係でモールドのできなかった場所だけ、ヒートペンで リベットをうっています。
銀はげ塗装は、よく使ったであろう機体上面左側をメインに入れ、全体的に控えめにしています。
特に夜間戦闘機は敵に肉薄する為、念入りに塗装していたはずですが、そのへんは「らしさ」を出す為にはげさせてみました。でないと、ほんとに 「黒一色」になってしまいますので。
エンジンまわりの汚れは若干の油のにじみをクリアーイエローとオレンジの塗装で表現しましたが、機体が黒いので殆どわかりません。
排気煙の汚れも、下地が黒いのでパステルで汚れの帯を広めに塗布しました。
ピトー管は真鍮線とパイプを組み合わせて造りました。
＜エンジン＞
エンジン内部にはコードを追加したのですが、ほぼ見えなくなるのでやらなくても大丈夫そうです。

コックピット内装は光人社のイラストが参考になりました。
機内色は「川崎機の緑色」がわからなかったので、同様にイラストの配色を参考に調合しました。
シートベルト金具と照準機のレティクルはファインモールド製のものを使用しました。
キャノピーの開閉ハンドルは、「世界の傑作機」の写真を参考に機体の外側についているＴ字型のとってを真鍮線で追加しました。キャノピー内部 にもとってがあるはずですが、残念ながら確認できませんでした。

ブレーキパイプは３ｍｍ真鍮線にて再現。
タイヤは、若干つぶれたように加工してあります。

２０ｍｍ機銃の銃口はデザインナイフであけてみました。
＜アンテナ＞
アンテナは０．２５ｍｍ銅線で作りました。

My grandfather was boan in 1923 as the oldest boy of 6 brothers.and taken to IJA in 1944.
He told me, that all the soldiers on the periphery of Tokyo were assembled in Shinagawa, and there they where ordered without explanation to assign to region in China. he even remembers the name of the officer who ordered him to do so.
My granfater were arrayed in the 25th independet Chutai, and he said that there were around 32 to 33 type2 2seats planes. According to the record, the 25th Chutai is desined to equip 40 type2 plane by august 1944.
At the beginning, my grandfather was an engine maintainer, But he became the 1st class maintainer at last. He said that anybody could become the first class maintainer ather 1 year work.
He also remembered the name of engine, and the codename of his team, "the 16682 corps" that name was confirmed the secret name of the 25th Chutai, by the remaining official list.
Grand father complained about the engine which did not start well, and he also said that it was very busy to start engine of Toryu. He turned the engine crank by his hands.After he made it, he immideatly started up the another engine, passing under the body of the plane.
Usualy, he put on the type2 fatigue unifortm whch was a unit of up and down wear.
He remembered his plane as" painted in dark red brown, no carmo". and that suggests his plane was nigtfighter,
The remaing photograph of the 25th Chutai on book "Sekaino kessakuki"shows Toryu painted in gray and greeen stripe, which is daylight carmo. but all fighters seems to be the type "cho", which equips angled 20mm gun.
Accroding to the book, the tailmark of the 25th Chutai was combination of "2" and "5", painted white, and an arrow was painted in yellow since august 1944,
Aftere the war, my grandfather was illegaly arrested and detained by russian, and forcet to the hand labor at coal mine at Uzbelistan.
After he suffered typhus, he was given the easier work, and he said "thanks to typhus, I was regarded to be useless as a worker, I was permitted to go home" in july 1948.
He remembered name of ship which he sailed back to Japan, that was "Daisho maru".

I used putty to bury steps around nose unit, and make it smart.
Dirt of oils are painted by clear yellow and orange.
Piton tube is made of brass line.
seatbelts are made of photo-etched parts from Finemold.
Brake oil pipe is being add by brass line.
The tire becomes dented for weighting slightly.
hole of 20mm gun muzzle is being opened by edge of knife.
I add lines on engine, but they are almost invisible.
Pipes are painted by clear orange and blue ,as if it is being burned by heat.
