駆逐艦「島風」は、戦前の新駆逐艦コンセプトである「高速重雷装駆逐艦」でしたが、実際の戦時中の駆逐艦に必要とされた「対潜対空能力・低コスト」に合致せず、一隻の建造で終わりました。
フジミ製キットと、純正エッチングをベースに製作いたしました。
主に竣工時の図面と写真を参考にしました。
This model exhibits Shimakaze during 1943, just after completed. Shimakaze was build on new concept of before WW2, heavy topedo armed and very fast ship. but this concept did not match to real war. anti air and submarine firepower,rader,sonar,and cheap cost was required. these things were all against Shimakaze.by such way, Shimakaze,s sisterships were never build, and Shimakaze had not a single chance to launch topedo. instead, Shimakaze was used as just rapid, rader equiped ship.
I mainly reffered original blueprint and picture taken on test sailing.
I mainly used Fujimi,s photo etched parts.
＜艦首＞
艦首錨甲板には、３Dプリンター製の錨鎖を使いました。アンカーも同様です。
ライジングピットとキャップスタンはキットで部品化されていました。チェーンパイプは別キットのあまりの部品を加工して使いました。
I used 3D printed anchor chain and anchor.
Capstan and rising pit was inclueded on kit. I add chain pipe.
＜武装＞
夕雲型と「島風」の１２．７ｃｍ連装砲は、D型と呼ばれる対空射撃のため大仰角７５度がとれる、天窓が大きめなのが特徴（このせいで普通第１砲塔にだけついている補強リブが全砲塔についてますが）の砲塔です。
尚、実際の運用では支障をきたしたのかC型同様の５５度でストッパーを付けていたようです。
金属製砲身はキットに付属していました。
ジャッキステーは純正エッチング製ですが、３５０分の１でもまだ大きすぎるのでなくてもよいかもしれません。
零式５連装魚雷発射管にもエッチングのジャッキステーと、扉を追加しました。
対空機銃は、艦橋前に１３ｍｍ連装機銃、機銃デッキ上には２連装２５ｍｍ機銃を配置、すべてファインモールドのものです。
機銃そばにある弾薬嚢はファインモールドの弾薬箱を使用しました。
パラベーンは若干大きいのですが、ピットロードの装備品セットから使いました。
Shimakaze,s main gun is so called "type D" 12.7mm twin gun turret.
It was capable to rise 75degree to shoot aircrafts (but in actual use, angle was restrited to 55degree), and have had large window to watch sky ,and all turrets had reenforce rib.
This time, I add jack stay made of photo eched parts, but it looks too big on this 1/350 size.
Type 0 5battery topedo tube is also decolated by photo eched parts.
13mm and 25mm twin MG and ammo box on the fromt of brdge is made of parts from Finemold.
Paravane is parts from Pitorad.
＜艦橋＞
艦橋の窓枠はキットに付属していなかった（透明部品が付属）ジョーワールドのエッチングを使用。
艦橋前面には特徴的な遮風装置があります。これはエッチング製部品で再現しました。ここは３Ｄプリンター製部品が今後出ると思います。
艦橋前面右側面には通風管がありますが、これはキットの凸モールドを切除し、伸ばしランナーで自作しました。
なお、艦橋背面、旗甲板にはりだした部位は本来電波探知室でしたが、電探搭載に伴いここは暗号室になったそうです。
As window grill was not included on Fujimi,s kit, I used photo etched parts from Joeworld.
Shimakaze has identicle wind breaker in front of bridge. it is made of photo-eched parts. I guess it will soon be made on 3D printer.
There is ventilation pipe on starboard of bridge. I made the pipe by heated plastic lod.
The structure below flag deck is cryptography room. it supposed to be telegram and radio detecting room, but it moved when she had been decided to attach rader.
マストは主に１ｍｍから０．２ｍｍの真鍮線で新造。0.03mm鋼線で補強しています。写真では殆ど見えませんが、図面を見るとおそらく電探追加にともなう補強用の柱が見えます（赤い線と破線）。
２２号電探は途中から追加されたものだったので、従来の３脚マストのままでは強度が足りなかったのでしょう。「メカ図鑑日本の駆逐艦」のイラストでは２２号電探を下から支える支柱は１本でしたが、当方は写真から２本と判断しました（緑色の線）。
２２号電探本体はピットロードの部品セットから持ってきました。らっぱは自分で開口しています。
マストの中間、旗甲板のレベルにはレジン製の探照灯管制装置を、艦橋左右には時期的に装備していたはずの赤外線識別装置付きの双眼鏡を配置しました。
信号旗は金属板製、速力標はハセガワの汎用エッチングメッシュから新造。連携信号燈は透明なランナーを伸ばしランナーにして作りました。
図面には見当たりませんが、写真には伝声管らしきものが見えました(黄色い円）ので、０．２ｍｍ真鍮線で再現しました。
見張り所背面にある信号燈はファインモールドの透明部品を使いました。
It does not appear on picture, but there seems to be additional beam below flag deck, to enforce mast (red line).As rader on middle of mast was add during construction, this beam should be add.
mast is mainly constructed bu 1mm to 0.2mm brass line, and reefroced by 0.03mm steel line.
Model 22 rader is plastic parts from Pitorad. I add hole of horn.
signal flag is made of metal plate. red parasol like object is called "speed sign", I made it from metal mesh. linked signal light behind mast is made of clear plastic lod.
There is no desription on blueprint, but there seems to be communication pipe behind bridge and above topedo tubes. I made it by 0.05 to 0.2mm steel line. many ships has removed pipes of long distant from bridge,but some ships has equiped pipes probably as reserve.
Binoculars with infrared signal , serchlight remort controler on flag deck is made of resin.
Signal light on middle of mast is from Finemold.
＜煙突＞
煙突の防水カバー支えはフジミのエッチング製。
Funnel top cover lines are made of etched parts from Fujimi.
＜艦中央＞
艦載艇は、ファインモールドの短艇セットを使いました。内火艇には、救命浮標までついてきました。
魚雷搬入用レールは、エッチング製です。
写真を見ると、図面にはない横線が魚雷発射管の上に横に伸びています。かなり細いですがおそらく伝声管かと思います。伝声管は内線電話の普及に伴い撤去されたはずですが、非常用なのか写真を見ると一部の秋月型駆逐艦などでもみられます。管自体は堅い管である必要はなく、柔らかい素材でも大丈夫みたいです。
Small boats are plastic parts from Finemold. motorboat has lifebuoy too.
Rail to move topedo is made of photo etched parts.
＜艦尾＞
後マストには、Genuine modelの「1/350 日本海軍汎用甲板艤装品セット」の避雷針と艦尾信号燈を使いました。
艦尾には、竣工時よりもはるかに少ない数の爆雷が置かれていました。両舷側に、手動で落とすタイプのものが６つ、これが当時の日本の艦隊型駆逐艦の標準装備でした。
戦時下になると爆雷装填台とその下の爆雷庫に予備爆雷が配置されたそうです。
爆雷はキット付属の金属製の棒の両端にエッチングのふたをつけるタイプのものが予定数の倍くらいはいってました。
島風は予備の魚雷を搭載しておりませんが、せっかくなのでキットに付属していた魚雷を台車にのせて点検中のジオラマにしました。
魚雷・爆雷搬出入用ダビットはファインモールドの部品を使いました。
Aft mast has signal light and lightning rod from Genuine model,s "1/350 ship equipment set".
Many of IJN destroyers had only 6 depthcharges on stern.all had to be droped by human hand.on wartime, reserve depthchages were loaded.
Shimakaze does not carry reserve topedo, but topedo was included on kit, so I instaled topedo on stern deck as maintenance sene.
Davids for loading depthcharges are from Finemold.
＜フィギュア＞
フィギュアはビーバーコーポレーションとバンカースタジオの３Dプリンター製のものを使いました。
ビーバーのほうが若干大きく、また生産性を重視したのか、かなり密にフィギュアがランナーについており切り離しに苦労しました。バンカースタジオは横一列の配置だったので切り離しやすかったです。
Figures are all 3D printed parts from Beaber cooporation and Bunkerstudio. Bunkerstudio had difficuty on cutting parts off, Bunker studio was instaled on one line, easier to cut off.
